Most second-source projects stall in the same place — not on price, but on whether the buyer can prove the part works before committing to volume. This page sets out how a first order runs with HGCHIPS: what the sample quantity is, what ships with it, how long stock and non-stock lines take, and what to send us to get a usable answer.
Samples and lead times apply to the memory and power lines we carry: DDR3 (1.35 V / 1.5 V, VFBGA-96), DDR4 (1.2 V, FBGA-78/96) and LPDDR4 / LPDDR4X (up to 4266 MT/s, VFBGA-200), plus ADI LTM46xx / LTM80xx µModule drops. State the original part number, target density (for example 8 Gb) and quantity when you request a sample, so the quote can be matched to the correct speed grade and package.
From 10 pcs — enough for incoming inspection, validation on your platform and a burn-in check
Credited against your first production order, so validating before you commit does not add to programme cost
48h dispatch from Shenzhen on parts we physically hold
Within 24 business hours, including the compatibility check
Per-lot inspection and validation records, plus datasheets and compatibility notes for the part number
SGS / RoHS / REACH statements where applicable
If a supplier cannot show per-lot records, you cannot know which die revision you are approving. That is the test to apply to us as much as to anyone else.
Lead time is the one number a supplier cannot honestly generalise. It depends on the part number, the grade, and whether we physically hold the lot. So we split it:
| Case | What we state |
|---|---|
| Part held as stock | 48h dispatch from Shenzhen — quoted from a physical position |
| Non-stock, standard grade | Confirmed lead time in the quotation, per part number |
| Long-lifecycle programme | Scheduled shipments with firm pricing, so unit cost does not move with the spot market |
| Grade not held | We say so and quote the lead time for that grade, rather than offering a different grade |
Sample and lead-time terms are indicative until confirmed in a quotation, and they apply to the specific part number and grade quoted. Nothing here replaces the qualification work on your own platform — a delivered sample that boots is not an approved part.
Sample quantities start at 10 pcs. That is normally enough to run incoming inspection, functional validation on your own platform and a burn-in check, which is the same sample plan described in our qualification checklist.
Yes. The sample cost is credited against your first production order, so validating before you commit does not add to the programme cost.
Stock lines dispatch in 48 hours from Shenzhen. Non-stock and long-lifecycle quantities are quoted with a confirmed lead time rather than a promise, because the honest answer depends on the specific part number and grade.
Per-lot inspection and validation records, datasheets and compatibility notes for the specific part number, and SGS / RoHS / REACH statements where applicable. A sample test report can be shared before you order.
Yes. We share a sample test report for your target part number, and you can book a live video test on WhatsApp to watch the qualification run rather than reading a PDF.
Compatibility check and quotation within 24 business hours. To get a usable answer rather than a catalogue link, send the exact marking from your BOM, your monthly usage and the grade you need.
We tell you that rather than substituting something similar. Industrial-grade parts (-40 to +95 C) are held in dedicated lines; where a grade is not held, the quotation states the lead time for that grade instead of offering a different one.
Send the exact marking, your monthly usage and the grade you need — we reply within 24 business hours with the compatibility check and the lead time for that grade.
